What you will learn

The course is based on established approaches from cognitive behavioral therapy and offers an introduction to the mechanisms of emotional regulation through working with mental models. In it you will get to know:

  • What is it the cognitive model and how you think, our emotions and behavior are interconnected.
  • What are emotions?. Basic negative emotions and their cognitive pathways – what is behind anger, fear, the blame, sadness and shame.
  • Automatic thoughts – how to recognize them in real time and how they affect our emotional states.
  • Cognitive distortions – the most common “thought traps”, in which we fall.
  • Cognitive restructuring through Socratic dialogue – one of the most effective techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy for changing ineffective thought patterns for a more adaptive emotional response.
  • Practically structured a tool for cognitive restructuring, through which we change our perspective and master our emotional response.
